Virgin Airlines Switching to Biofuels

brsngttbbWell its not exactly official yet but billionaire Richard Branson has announced that he plans on testing biofuels with his Boeing 747s by early next year. Virgin Atlantic have been developing new biofuels that will be suitable for use in jet planes. Branson, who also runs Virgin Railways, plans on implementing renewable biofuel in the next four years.

Sir Richard Branson has made a name of himself in the fight against global warming. As owner of the Virgin empire he pledged 3 billion of his profits to go towards the development of more environmentally friendly biofuels. But that's not all folks, he even has put out a 25 million dollar prize to anyone who can develop a way to extract CO2 from the atmosphere. So if you are a scientist this may be your ticket to fame and fortune.
