The Pope to Proclaim Environmental Issues a Moral Responsibility

Pope Benedict XVIThe Pope is scheduled to make his traveling rounds to North America in April. Invited to speak at the United Nations, Pope Benedict XVI plans on delivering a strong message to convey the moral responsibility of caring for the environment.

"This is a crucial issue both today and for all future generations. We are the stewards of creation and we need to take that responsibility seriously and co-operate to care for the created world." - Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor (head of the Catholic Church in the UK).

This is not the first time Catholic Popes have dictated moral responsibilities. In the past Pope decrease have left nations into turmoil. immorality of divorce - Henry XIII and his murdered wives; Immorality of charging interests on loans - stalled economy.

On the other hand, because I want to see people do their part to save the world from global warming, I'll side with the Pope on this one.
