The Five Stages of Acceptance

global warming

I forgot where I got this so you'll have to forgive me (if anyone could claim it let me know). It's the five stages of acceptance people go through when discussing global warming.

Stage 1: Denial
I always hear people say that global warming isn't possible. They deny the scientific evidence and claim that the earth regularly goes through climate changes, ice-age, etc...

Stage 2: Anger
That's when people begin to accept the proof but will still stand by and watch it happen. Getting mad over an issue is so much easier than trying to fix it.

Stage3: Bargaining
Won't it be nice to have the tropics come to you rather than fly there for vacation? Being in Canada it's nice to imagine having warm weather during the cold winter months, however, not at the expense of the rest of the world.

Stage 4: Depression
Thinking about all of the things we will have to give up is hard. That big house, sports car, vacations may have to be a small sacrifice for doing our part.

Stage 5: Acceptance
No more evidence needed. We sacrifice only what we are willing to and the burden falls on someone elses shoulders to fix.
