Plant a Tree with your Cell Phone!

If you’re like me, you may be "green" but lack a certain talent known as "having a green thumb".

Well take a look at this tree here. I just planted it this morning and all it took was a cell phone and a computer. And look! I've nurtured that little tree from a seedling. seed.jpg

Fun as it was, the best thing about this is that there will be a real live tree planted to help replant New Orleans.

The Canadian based non-profit organization SeedCollective.org has teemed up with Seventh Generation in an ongoing effort in support of the Replant New Orleans program.

The overall mission of SeedCollective.org is to utilize modern wireless and computer technology to drive resources for support of “long-term, on-going tree planting, protection and maintenance programs in our urban centers”.

We think that’s a pretty cool thing.

My tree took me less than five minutes to grow, and by taking a moment out of my day, I helped make a difference.

So what are you waiting for Greenies? Get out your cell phones and plant a tree!

Of course, if you're not like me and you do have a green thumb, feel free to go outside after you've grown your virtual tree and plant a real one.

We can never have enough trees!
