North to Alaska!

AlaskaTomorrow I will make my way up to Alaska for a two week adventure of the Great North (carbon offsets purchased for jet and car travel, and sustainable tourism practices firmly on hand!).

We'll catch the ferry for the Alaska Marin Highway in Ketchikan - instead of Bellingham, Washington as originally planned due to an "engine failure" with one of the system's ferries - and make our way through the Inside Passage. From Skagway we'll go up the Alaskan Highway through the Yukon north to Fairbanks; then take the Alaska railway down to Denali, and finally move further south to Anchorage, Seward, and Whittier.

I hope to post some pictures of pristine wilderness to post on this blog during the trip, and perhaps some of my impressions of what I find along the journey.

So until then, stay green and seek peace.
