New Invention Saves Writers Travel Time

margaret_atwood.jpg

Famous Canadian Author Margaret Atwood turned down an invitation to attend the Cheltenham Literature Festival in England to help reduce her carbon emissions. As a active member of the Friends of the Earth Patron, Margaret Atwood, who wrote novels like "The Handmaid's Tale" and "Oryx and Crake," decided to take he role seriously by staying home that day.

Instead of flying all over the world to do book signings, she devised a clever way to do it from her home. The invention, LongPen – which basically lets you sign books anywhere in the world without needing to travel all over the world.

Other authors such as best seller Dean Koontz and Kate Mosse have already joined the LongPen group. Her biggest supporter in the success of her organization is fellow writer and husband Graeme Gibson.
