Huh?
Something has got me a little frosted, and when I get frosted, I get just a wee bit sarcastic.
What's all this about?
Well, it turns out that due to a data source change between 1999 and 2000, NASA made a slight error in reporting recent U.S. temperature data.
Lo and behold, the warmest year on record in the United States is no longer 1998 but 1934. The difference in temperature is two-hundredths of a degree Celsius.
The boat nearly tipped over here in the U.S. by deniers and decriers all stumbling over themselves to show how we have all been hoodwinked by hysterical "warm-mongers".
But there's just a little problem with all that, and I'd bet the Canadian audience here at Hugg have already picked up on it.
Gosh, you mean there's more data to consider than just U.S. temperature statistics when assessing global warming patterns?
The fact is that the warmest years globally remain 1998 and 2005, and statistical averages in the US still haven't changed, showing not only a warming country, but a warming world.
So that's why it isn't called "National Warming".
