Israel and Jordan have teamed up in a collaborative effort to save the natural coral reefs of the Red Sea. The reefs are a popular tourist spot, attracting divers from all over the world wanting to get a glimps at their natural beauty. But nothing seems to last. After years of tourist divers the reefs are literally being killed off. Scientists predict that soon there may not be any left to see. This means big bucks lost in tourism, oh and it's bad for the fish.
Dumping tires into the Ocean in the 70's seemed like a good idea at the time but it turned out to be a disaster. In the case of the Red Sea, making reefs that look more like concrete abstract art doesn't seem like a solution to me. Their creations seem more like an art gallery geared towards divers. Well who knows right. Maybe this will help preserve the fish of the Red Sea.
