Changing the PCV valve on your vehicle is an important part of reducing dangerous hydrocarbon emissions.
The valve is small and seemingly unimportant, but it has the important job of making sure that all hydrocarbons in the engine are burned off completely. This ensures that your vehicle is running at its maximum efficiency. There's no need to call your mechanic, the hardest part is finding the valve. Once you know just check it by taking it out, give it a shake, if it rattles than everything is fine, if not have it replaced. Simple! So simple a job that most mechanics overlook it during a regular tune-up. So try doing it yourself or just remind your mechanic. You'll feel better knowing that your vehicle is running at its maximum efficiency and it will impress your mechanic.
