Green Tip of the Day

6. Whenever possible use a toaster-oven or microwave.

Using a large conventional-oven to heat up leftovers, wastes energy. Microwaves are twice as efficient and are much faster. If you are like my wife and insist that your corn-dogs have that crisp taste, use a toaster-oven instead. Toaster-ovens will save you from ¾ to ½ on energy costs. When purchasing a toaster-oven, choose one that has a Fahrenheit/Celsius dial instead of the numeric ones. That way you can use the toaster-oven to bake small cakes or cookies.

I've got one of those toaster-ovens. They are so great! They are so much faster than conventional ovens and they also are small, compact, and portable.
