On July 1st, thousands of DIY fashionistas will pledge to refashion, renovate and recycle their clothing rather than purchasing new clothing items for a period of 2 months, 4 months or 6 months. Wardrobe Refashion '08 will chronicle thousands of refashioners via their blog and Flickr uploads with a shared sense of green creativity as the catalyst.
BUT I DON'T HAVE ANY SEWING SKILLZ
The trick to refashioning your own clothes is to recognize that your handmade items will never be perfect, but they'll be one-of-a-kind. You try not to stab your own thumb and hope for the best. That being said, there are some amazing resources to get you started on the road to refashioning. Between ThreadBanger , Craft Mafia, Craft Magazine and the various DIY networks out there, the hardest thing about this contest is committing to your favorite projects.
