G8 Countries Commit to Reducing Greenhouse Gases... by 2050?

g8-summitcrew-cp-3073463.jpg

World leaders meet in Germany for G8 summit.

The leaders of the worlds most powerful nations committed today to cut greenhouse gas emissions by half for the year... yes, that's right, 2050. Would someone please do the math for me! With CO2 emissions on the rise does that mean that our goal is to have 50% less CO2 than present levels, or is it 50% less of what it's projected to be at, 43 years from now. I'm not a scientist but I have studied history long enough to know that allot can happen in 43 years.

With world leaders who attended the G8 summit patting each other on the back for the great job they did on 'saving the world', people are protesting the band-aide solution. If you are as perturbed as I am I'm sure you will want to know who you should be complaining too. Here are some links.

I don't think anything will change until Bush leaves office. It's sad but true.

2050?! The Earth has great potential to be under water by 2050! I mean, I'm happy that solving this issue is even being considered, but come on!
