Every day it seems there is a better computer you wish you had waited for. That's the problem with technology, it's constantly changing. Electronic companies constantly bombard us with the latest technology and best gadgets. The truth, however, is that they want you to constantly change your PC. It's good business. But what to do with the old computer? Each year millions of older computers are thrown into the dump, not because the don't work but because something better came along.
If you do have an older computer that you are thinking of getting rid of, consider instead having it reworked with open-sourced software. EcoGeek.org has put together some links to sites teaching users to revamp their older computers to run like new. If you are set on getting rid of you old electronic equipment recycle it instead of throwing them away. Dell for example has a program where they collect old computer and donate them to other countries.
