Dangerous Chemicals Found in Children

babyChildren of this current generation are being raised in a completely different environment than any other generation before. Today, plastic is the most commonly used material to package our foods. Example: plastic bottles instead of the classic glass; PCB pipes in our homes instead of copper; plastic bags to contain our foods like bread or vegetables and fruits; and now silicone bakeware. The truth of it is, no one knows the long term effect of anything. These kinds of studies require, well, time.

A study has shown that the average child will have higher than normal levels of dangerous chemicals in their bloodstream. Some of these agents can even be associated with neurological and cancerous diseases.

"We are in an epidemic of environmentally mediated disease among American children today," he said. "Rates of asthma, childhood cancers, birth defects and developmental disorders have exponentially increased, and it can't be explained by changes in the human genome. So what has changed? All the chemicals we're being exposed to." - Jordana Miller

So what can we do? The only solution I can think of is to develop a chemical free lifestyle. Which means, avoid eating and feeding your children processed foods. Find new ways to prepare your foods. There are many published books out there that can help you on your chemical, environmentally friendly quest.
