Canada's ecoAUTO Rebate Program

Buying a fuel-efficient car has become easier. The Government of Canada has established the ecoAUTO Rebate Program. An incentive program that hopes to increase the number of eco-friendly vehicles on Canadian roads.

Between $1000 to $2000 is being given to purchasers of approved fuel-efficient vehicles. Qualifiers of the rebate goes to those who have purchased or leased (12 months or more) a government approved vehicle after March 20, 2007.

Another thing to consider when buying your next vehicle is a new tax on inefficient vehicles. The tax will be imposed according to the following scale.

At least 13 but less than 14 litres per 100 km: $1,000
At last 14, but less than 15 litres per 100 km: $2,000
At least 15 but less than 16 litres per 100 km: $3,000
16 or more litres per 100 km: $4,000
