Buy FSC-certified wood and paper

Did you know you there are greener choices in wood and paper products? By buying products that are FSC-certified, you can make a difference.

Forest Stewardship Council(FSC) is an international forest certification and labeling system created from responsibly managed forests and verified recycled sources. These forests are certified using strict environmental and social standards.

“Forests mitigate climate change, are a source and store of freshwater, provide habitat for wildlife, and are of great cultural and social importance to First Nations peoples and society,” says FSC Canada. “Forests also provide fibre for the 350 million tons of paper and 1.5 billion m3 of wood consumed globally per year.”

Internationally, check out the FSC products database. The FSC Canada website offers up manufacturers and suppliers which feature FSC-certified wood products.
