The increasing popularity of carbon offsets as a viable “first start” solution to climate change, as well as growing criticism and misinformation of the concept, has necessitated the need for a “clearinghouse” of educational resources and high quality offset vendors.
To meet that need, a multinational collaboration between Sustainable Travel International (United States), CO2Balance (United Kingdom), and Offsetters Climate Neutral Society (Canada) have joined forces with CarbonTracker.com to create the CarbonTracker Network.
The CarbonTracker Network is a first in the voluntary offset market, geared toward providing reliable and up-to-date information about climate change, greenhouse gases, carbon offsets, and responsible offset providers.
By putting in place quality requirements, the CarbonTracker Network will ensure that offsets purchased through Network members reflect verifiable emission reductions.
The resources of the Network are available to individuals and businesses. The Network is also actively seeking partnerships with organizations that seek to provide their members and customers a source of “offset-based climate solutions that maintain a choice of offset vendors and projects”.
Enough said! Explore the CarbonTracker Network to learn more.
