A big highlight for me during my recent Earthwatch adventure to the Canadian low arctic was an opportunity to have a personal chat with one of Canada’s most respected polar bear experts, Dr. Nick Lunn.
He was just arriving as our team was finishing up our project. I and one other teammate stayed behind an extra day waiting for the train to take us from Churchill to Winnipeg (a story in itself). This afforded me the chance to have a quiet discussion with Nick, along with my teammate Chris and one CNSC staffer, about polar bears, climate change, environmental policy both in Canada and the US, and his views on how society can meet the challenges it now faces.
I’ve posted highlights of the conversation on my blog GlobalWarmingisReal.com.
